Toggle Desktop Controls

While playing a game in Desktop I would appreciate a way to toggle from the game controls to the desktop controls so that I could do stuff such as change song or message someone. This could be done easy by having a button/button combination that is always the toggle such as the 3 Dots button or Steam button and Start button.

I love the Desktop Mode but as it stands I can't do the thing I love the most about Desktop Mode when playing Steam Games which just resulted in me only playing non-Steam games in Desktop Mode, which is unfortunate. Please and thank you! (written on Steam Deck )

Gamescope is a separate compositor than KDE desktop. May I ask what music application do you wish to run?

Some of us decided to run the desktop in gamemode instead. The alternative to bypass the dichotomy between game and desktop mode.

I run several different music programs but that is not the point. I did try the Desktop in Gaming Mode a while back hoping it would be a good alternative but it was not and it ended up making me reset my Steam Deck because of the wayland issues I got.

The thing is, I like desktops and multitasking. I like having a start menu where I have all of my applications even if I didn't add them to Steam and having a mouse cursor. I am just a computer guy, so I really want to keep using only Desktop Mode. I would need it the other way around, Game Mode in Desktop Mode and no, Big Picture Mode is close, but not close enough. The overlay with Big Picture Mode is almost always broken in the games I played.
