My niche use case though is a bit different, I have disability that doesn't let me use physical keyboard, w recently i started more frequently to use steam as controls binding software, Im developing in linux through VR (current stack is win 10 + bigscreen beyond + steam + vmware with arch linux), so currently I use gyroscope based controller with onscreen keyboard & chord buttons. It works very decent & I could improve my productivity by a lot. Steam binding system is a treasure which seamless integrates with all terminals, IDEs, awesome wm, browser etc.
So it would be really awesome if it will be possible to directly connect steamdeck as a PC controller without steam link & proxy its screen keyboard to PC with gesture typing feature. I know I dream but if steam binding virtual menus cant be shown without big picture overlay in a pure desktop mode it would be awesome to show virtual menus on steam deck's screen connected to PC as a controller
