Let me copy text in gaming mode

This is such basic functionality. Please implement a copy key, I am losing my mind over this. Why can't we copy text?

I take back what I said. Sadly, this does not work. Ctrl + C does nothing with an external keyboard, and right clicking with an external mouse does not work any better than L2. I cannot believe they haven't implemented this yet. The only solution I've found is to add a text editor as a non-Steam game, bind Ctrl + C to a button, open a previously saved text file, and copy from there. After that, you can paste in any other game with the paste key on the keyboard as you would expect.

How is this situation possible, and still not fixed? Steam builds an amazing machine, and forgets a Copy function -- BUT WAIT! WAIT!! It has a Paste function, which it is bonkers, because... WE CANT COPY anything in the first place! WTF Steam?

Yes this still hasn't been a thing...

JUST MAP THE PASTE BUTTON TO BECOME A COPY BUTTON WHEN YOU HOLD SHIFT, LIKE WHAT??
