[Quality of Life] Default NumLock to "on" for both Desktop and GamePad modes.
Currently NumLock defaults to "off", this affects external keyboards and causes unexpected behavior in the onscreen keyboard. Toggling this functionality does not always appear to work in GamePad mode.

On average use do not use directional or function input on extended keyboard numerical pads to such an extent that most applications under Windows and OSX expect numerical input by default, whereas Linux honors the user setting.

+1 This would be great to be configurable by profile. Or perhaps allow sending explicit key codes for the inputs (0-9 on numpad is different keycode than 0-9 on top row)

Please! It is driving me nuts. I don't want to press insert, I want to press Num 0. Also make it so going into the overlay doesn't reset the state of the numlock. I will submit a bug report on that.

there seems to be an hidden option in bios located at the "Advanced" menu which name is "Boot Configuration", and inside it there's an option for to enable NumLock on boot. By default it's off, and I just don't know how to turn it on😯

Did you see that somewhere? I mean, on the Deck? Or are you just talking about how that's common in other computers?

I am still experiencing an issue when playing games. I require the use of numpad buttons for my Razer Trinity Naga, but I have assigned a SD button to numpad lock. However, as soon as I press any key on the keyboard, the numpad lock turns off. This problem is specific to game mode, as it works fine in desktop mode.

Upvoting; it would be great if this were controllable with an always-on command even, so it could be baked into community controller mappings where necessary.
