Desktop Mode: Ability to Switch Between Desktop and Gamepad Configuration

Being able to have a bindable key that switches between detecting a keyboard/mouse and detecting a gamepad on desktop mode would be incredibly useful to jump between activities that require a keyboard/mouse and controller separately, especially for non-steam games that can't be added to the steam library.

I'm not sure if you're able to do it on demand though, and you can't rebind controller-specific controls such as joystick on the desktop.

You can create different action sets. One action set that's keyboard and mouse and one action set that is gamepad controls. Then you can bind a button to switch between action sets.

However, you are correct that the desktop config does not let you bind controller inputs. The workaround is to start with a config you made in another game, export it as a template, and then import it into your desktop config.

iirc you can do that, press L1 when the keyboard layout + shortcuts etc is on screen.

Nope, you can't select controller buttons in the Desktop config tool. It's pretty dumb

That works, but it's such a clunky workaround. Why can't we just select controller buttons like in the regular config menu.
