As all over the game mode menus it lists the buttons (steam) (select) (back) ect.
And since these indicators ((steam) and (back)) that show the button to press also act as their own buttons via touch, why add an arrow ?
Then we go through warranty and/or fix the damaged hardware
If someone doesn't have warranty and breaks their device then yeah they will have to spend the money to fix it. Who wouldn't fix it? Gonna be annoying to play games with a bunch of buttons missing.
If the screen button isn't working, and the physical button isn't working, there are other problems that need tending to. The software is clearly in an unintended state, and the hardware needs repairs. Adding extra buttons to the UI for this isn't the solution.
