Can’t reinstall SteamOS or access personal files in recovery mode
My SteamOS stopped has working on my Steam Deck OLED, so I installed the official recovery image on a microSD card and I launched into the recovery disk environment. However, even when I clicked on Reinstall Steam OS and clicked on the button to proceed, nothing happened. I even tried connecting to Wifi but to no avail either. I can’t access my personal files from the recovery environment either as they don’t seem to be present under the file manager, Dolphin. I haven’t tried re-imaging yet because I want to at least backup my files before I reimage.

So I have 2 questions:
1) How do I make the ‘Reinstall Steam OS’ work?
2) How can I mount my SteamOS on in the recovery environment so that I can access and backup my files if I need to reimage?

I fixed it eventually, and it had to do with Windows 11. The latest windows 11 update corrupts SteamOS. Someone from another forum helped me out by linking me to this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=eUDbLkHDeGY

Your files are fine, so don’t format your disk. Just follow the instructions in the video.
