Steam Deck keeps losing connection to Wifi

We have a new router for the internet connection, however after this point the Deck has a problem with frequently disconnection from Wifi, even when being in the room that is above the router. While the disconnections are very frequent, they appear to only last about 1 second before reconnecting without issue. But it happens too often to make playing most of my games that require a stable connection. Not sure if this is due to a bug with a deck update or the router, or an unforeseen variable. I'd like some input that might alieviate this issue or negate it entirely.
