Low FPS on Verified Games on the OLED Steam Deck
Hi all, I got my OLED 512GB deck recently and been tinkering around with plugins and emulators mainly. I tried to play my first real “demanding” game which was Resident Evil 2 Remake. It says its verified on steam and I’ve seen other posts on here saying it was a smooth 60fps experience, yet I only get 10-20 fps on the lowest possible settings at 1280x800 resolution. I’ve searched up tirelessly on what could be the issue. I’ve tried resetting the APU. Loading bios to optimized defaults. Booting in power storage mode. I even factory reset it in hopes that whatever caused this could’ve been my emulators/plugins. I don’t think any of these methods changed anything. What confuses me most is that when looking at the performance details, there seems to be no problem with the clock speeds of the gpu. What could be the issue? Should I just try to RMA at this point? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you check your Power-Overlay Level 4 (Dots Menu)?

Yes, the clock speeds seem to be running fine but I have noticed that even with my TDP not limited my GPU and CPU are combined taking up about 10W of power

Fixed it! I ran the game with Proton 8 Compatibility and now I can run it at 60 fps high settings

Great.
Good to know, this can also take some power.
