Steam Deck power button not working to put system in sleep mode

Hey guys so i have an odd problem with my Deck and the fact that the power button doesnt make the system go to sleep, but the power button does work when i turn it back on and when i long press it it does shut down the system. Any reason why it doesnt make the system enter sleep mode?

I tried removing animation changer but that didnt work too.

You haven't found a solution by any chance, have you? I'm facing the same issue since Saturday. The power button doesn't put the Deck to sleep while im in game mode. "Steam Button > Power > Sleep" works perfectly, though and so does pushing the power button in desktop mode.

Edit: I have found a solution. Try the fix documented here (in case you have also used Animation Changer in the past):

You legend This finally fixed it!! I deleted both the .config/animationchanger folder and the . steam/ root file. Thanks a million! Was gonna factory reset my deck as a last resort XD

Having this problem right now. It will not power down unless it's a forced shutdown. The screen says shutting down, then goes black, but the fan stays running and the screen is black but still on. It will proceed to drain the battery then die.
