Loading Screen Stuck When Launching Games
Whenever I launch a game, the little swirling Steam icon shows up and doesn't go away no matter how long I wait. This usually happens after the device has been in sleep mode but not turned off for an extended amount of time (half a day+). The game audio is playing underneath and when I press the Steam button I can see it's running, but the loading circle comes back when I get out of the Steam button menu and won't go away. This happens with both Steam and non-Steam games. The issue resolves itself when I fully restart the system, but it's inconvenient and I was wondering if anyone had this issue and if so how they fixed it. I heard somewhere you can turn this loading circle animation off in settings but I can't find it. If you can, can someone tell me how to do it? Googling this doesn't seem to get any solutions.

Disabling "Use as Wake Movie" in Customization seems to fix it.

I'm having the exact same issue

I had this a little while ago, and I can't remember specifically what it was, but it has something to do with selecting one of the fancier loading animations. The animation looks great on restart, but causes problems when waking from sleep, especially is slept during a game. Put the loading screen back to default and it the problem should go away.

This happens to me as well
But to be more precise - whenever I send Steam Deck to sleep, it lagging a bit on steam icon (you can see it stucking on animation) and then goes to sleep. Returning from sleep mode, it shows this icon for a sec and turns off. Trying to turn it on brings the game back, but again it ether black screen with game's sound (only steam button seems to work and shows everything else) and game does not work/response or steam icon animation and then brings back to game library (game closes by itself).
What's odd, is that top UI is absent (battery, wi-fi etc.) and when its happening, starting games will be the same - it starts, but steam icon is over them rendering them unresponsive.
This happens on graphic-heavy games (100% with Yakuza Like a Dragon). Rarely with light games (Vampire Survivors returns from sleep without hiccup's)
The system is on Latest Stable update. I do have fancy start up's but that was even before I installed them as well as they are not played when I return from sleep.

Having the same issue since yesterday. Rebooting fixes it temporarily. The game launches fine behind the loading screen, which you can see if you press ●●●.

Edit: I do not own any custom loading screens, and this happens with any game, even ones like Spelunky, Steamworld Dig, Retroarch (Steam), and Edge browser. Leaving my Deck plugged in for a few hours seems to trigger it. Disabling the option to play the animation when I wake the console seems to have fixed the problem.

Amazing, thank you, yes I had in settings->customizations the use as a wake movie enabled, I disabled it and the error went away

Hmmm.... interesting. I feel like at the time, I had to disable that movie. I wonder if the "use as a wake movie" is a work-around created so you can still have the movie, but it doesn't affect wake. But I don't know, I'm just working off my memory.

I didn't even have a custom animation enabled (or even one installed. Or owned.), so it was definitely that setting that fixed it. I had just done something questionable before rebooting, and was honestly worried I'd lose everything.

Interesting. Well, I at least hope there are a couple solution for other people that find this thread. May I ask what the "something questionable" was, just out of curiosity?

Team, I do not have the option "wake up movie" enabled, but still have this problem.
