High RPM Fan / 7300RPM ( ´•︵•` )
My Steam Deck without "Enable updated fan control":

it is between 4000RPM and 5000RPM

The problem is with "Enable updated fan control":

The rpm increases up to 7300 even in the menu, with low CPU/GPU temperatures. Go up to 7300, go down and go back up randomly.

It is normal?, Is it because of the hard drive temperatures?

Do you have the 512gb version? If so which brand is your SSD drive?

now I use the disabled driver (Outside the game, while there are downloads, files are moved...) This usually causes the random fan curve.

While gaming I use the fan controller and so far I think it's fine.

I think that valve should improve the fan curve with the hard drive.

I have also similar behavious with samsung 512gb drive. I am starting to think that the samsung drives run little hot. I might end up buying a different drive.

Thanks used fantastic also. Seems that the "pumping" effect happens if you leave the fan curve at the dead bottom of the chart.

The reason this is happening is the samsung SSD drive. I changed it and the problem is gone

I got myself a 512 model and have the same anomaly. I thought that was normal for the Deck to just do random bursts of the fan every few minutes. I thought to look up if it was but it seems so that there was an update that made the Deck do this now?
Its really irritating to have those fan spikes constantly.

Fixed in preview https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1675200/view/3383920059429575957

(Fixed an issue with fan controller excessive sensor polling causing sporadic fan behavior and higher SSD temps on some NVME drives)
