Edit: Disabling rumble worked for me!
It's literally impossible to use a Pro Controller for me.
I switched to using my Series X controller. The lag is negligible, however it has the exact same connectivity issues. It sometimes stays connected for a few hours, but most often just sporadically disconnects a few times in less than 10 minutes.
I gave up and resorted to using a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard which isn't ideal on a couch with no sturdy surface.
Kinda defeats the purpose of a dock for most folks I'd say. (keyword: "most" as I realize some folks probably have one to use it like a computer at their desk)
Also I tried disabling not only rumble but haptics of any sort, and made sure it was turned off in-game and my controller still disconnected constantly. I had to resort to using a cord.
Disabling haptics worked for me. Then I had to install a new OS and now it doesn't work unfortunately. Still an issue in 2023.
wait, i thought my switch controller was messed up, did i buy a Dualshock 4 for nothing?
Super annoying
