The profile that you picked should be remembered if you are using the same setup regardless of plug/unplug. If you were to use a different hub/tv/avr then the profile may change back.
Dolby Atmos would be a bridge to far I guess?
I had an Onkyo that reversed the back channel when using multichannel PCM (it was a bug) . DTS and Dolby was working fine. Maybe that could be the issue with you to?
I find it strange. You would say multi channel pcm is always the same 🤔. So be sure that other multi channel pcm sources, work correct.
Still glad it works and re-plugging isn't that big of a hassle with the official dock.
multi surround doesn't work for me with the official steam deck dock. I have to go into a desktop mode for it to work.
Audio issues
To enable 5.1/7.1 audio over HDMI/DP: While plugged into the display, go to Desktop mode, click on the speaker icon on the task bar, find the HDMI/DisplayPort slider, click on the 3-line menu and select the number of channels that you want. This will then stay selected when switching back to Gaming Mode.
Didn't work. That used to be how you do that but not anymore.
It's work well for the PS4/Switch/Xbox in this configuration, but the steam deck doesn't.
On desktop mode, we have the ability to test the configuration, and when i go to 5.1, i only got FR and LF working, nothing more, so it's just "stereo"
I will take a look with Pulse Audio to see if something can be done, maybe i've got mapping issue, i'm not 100% sure.
