Steam Deck Windows Drivers – Lack of Proper Support
I recently installed Windows 11 on my Steam Deck OLED, but I am extremely frustrated with the lack of proper driver support.

The biggest issue is the Steam Deck’s built-in controller, which is not properly recognized by Windows. Because of this, I am forced to use third-party software like Handheld Companion just to make it work as an Xbox or PlayStation controller. Even then, compatibility is inconsistent, and many apps like PS Remote Play fail to detect the controller correctly.

Additionally, other essential drivers such as audio, GPU, and card reader drivers are also not properly integrated into Windows. This means every time Windows is installed or updated, users must manually search for and install drivers, which is not the case for most other PC hardware.

Why hasn’t Valve provided official drivers directly to Microsoft so that Windows can automatically install and update them like any other device? This would eliminate unnecessary troubleshooting and improve the experience for Steam Deck users who want to run Windows.

Please consider working with Microsoft to integrate Steam Deck drivers into Windows Update, ensuring that:
1. The Steam Deck controller is natively recognized without third-party software.
2. All essential drivers (GPU, audio, card reader, BIOS, etc.) are automatically installed via Windows Update.
3. Users don’t have to manually reinstall drivers after every Windows update.

I hope Valve can address these issues, as Steam Deck is marketed as a PC, and driver support should reflect that.
