steam deck wont limit tdp limit

turned on the system to play mortal kombat and i thought to lower the tdp limit for a old game however the button for the slider is gone and its been lie that since the latest beta update please help

Update channel: Beta, steamOS version 3.6.24
Also it seems like tdp option is not applied at all, and steamdeck fans are really loud

i posted it on reddit and i just got downvoted, but im greatful to find out that this issue has been found by others and makes me more hopefull that it will get fixed soon :)

i solved it by changing these two advanced settings...
the os update channel: preview and steam client update channel:steam deck stable.

Switching Client to Stable did the trick, thanks

Just updated to latest stable and TDP limit won't work. If I start a newly installed, never launched game the slider shows 0-0 and can't be moved

Same here, problem now exists on stable as well.

Same issue has already been reported on Github: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/11865

And Reddit (r/SteamDeck) is full with reports of it.

Having issues like this on a beta is to be expected, and frankly the whole point of a beta is to catch stuff like this. As this bug report did. It then slipping into stable is very concerning.
