Game doesn't recognize capital letters from onscreen keyboard
When playing Fallout: New Vegas and faced with a prompt to enter a character name at the start of the game, hitting shift or caps lock on the onscreen keyboard to make capital characters didn't work; no letter appeared ingame after hitting the keyboard. Lowercase letters appeared fine.

Literally came here to say this. I have this issue too!

Bumping, because this is still an issue after multiple keyboard-related updates. Most recently, I found that the onscreen keyboard can't input capital letters in Rogue, making the game unplayable (because many commands *need* capital letters to work).

Same for Fallout 3

Most games are not actually programmed to recognize capitol letters, but rather that the shift key is held down and the letter is being pressed. The steam keyboard is likely sending the unicode for the capitol letter instead of sending the shift-key-down input.

As a workaround, I just tried binding shift to the controller and holding that down while typing... and it disables the keyboard as soon as I push the button.

I have the same bug for a month. Character name input works with an external keyboard.
