It shows no current update for the controller. The update you may be referring to was the standard XBox controller not the Elite Series 2. There hasn't been a firmware update for the Xbox Elite series 2 since January.
My original problem was that the Deck would stop recognizing input from the Elite 2 controller even though it maintained a connection. That seems to be resolved from a few hours of playing today after the update and a recent update to the controller and it never happened once. However it seems what the resolution was comes at a cost. Prior to these updates the Deck would recognize the Elite 2 controller as it is and had full controller support in Steam Input allowing you to map all the paddles and it was just as functional as the Xbox accessories app. Now the Deck recognizes this controller as a basic Bluetooth Xbox controller so it works but you no longer have access to the full customization of the controller. I'm not sure if Valve or Microsoft made the change since they both received an update recently. Like can we not have this controller work on the Deck as it should and still have our customization or is the sacrifice that was made to get it working something we'll have to live with?
