Unable to display on TV in game mode

I'm using a dock to display via HDMI. I've tried using multiple cables and have tried on a Samsung and LG TV. Neither will reliably let me see the deck when in game mode. In desktop mode it works great. In game mode, I had one time that it worked and then in numerous subsequent attempts it failed. The screen on the deck does go black as expected but nothing is displayed on the TV.

It sounds kind of like it's trying to output in an unsupported resolution or refresh rate. Try going into display settings and at the very bottom there's a "safe mode" you can activate. Turn that on and see if it will display on your TV.
