Had the same bug yesterday. Was on latest beta... Wanted to switch to stable but it made me restart. However when I did kept forcing me saying unable to connect to internet. Was stuck in a loop of this for 3 hours with boot logo!!! Soo frustrating. Why in the hell do I need wifi just to switch from beta to stable. Anyways only solution is to do a full factory reset under recovery options using a usb and rufus. I tried connecting my deck to a mobile hotspot. Didn't work.. Tried waiting. No! Trying to restore the fatal error to preserve your games with the recovery image doesn't work so don't even bother. I tried it but it did not work. You have to be prepared to lose all your data and starting fresh but at least you will have a working device vs non working. Valve really needs to get their act together with beta updates ruining the deck as a whole. Am sticking with stable and never using beta ever again.
