Steam Deck Discord Voice Chat Issue: Can Speak and Be Heard, Cannot Hear Others

Recently got my Steam Deck, was able to get Discord on it. Was hoping to use Discord while playing games to have voice communications. Tried several times with a friend who also owns a Deck, but was unable to get voice working in both directions: the Deck's internal microphones were picking me up loud and clear, but the speakers weren't playing his voice back to me.

Any solutions?
