Random reboot

My deck reboot after a while then streaming Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout

I had tried to stream Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition
And it rebooted then i close the game

Remote play
Connected to my TV, with JSAUX Docking, model 2
With steam controller connected with Bluetooth

Got a reboot again
Steamdeck set to unlimited frame rate, it reboots then i try to start Horizon Zero Dawn
Now its won't remote play
Simply black screen
Or start, and run like a pixelated slideshow

Turn of hardware decoding on the deck helps
The deck cant stream with hardware decoding?

The old steam link
Did not have problem
Or the steam link app on Chromecast TV
Or my Chromebook

Using Steam Beta channel.

I am not streaming or anything like that, just playing.

Getting the same random reboots even just browsing the Store and during reboot I get the 'Verifying Installation' notification.

Have you tried the stable channel?

Any updates for this? I'm getting some random reboots with verifying install as well, specifically during nioh 2.

i just got a couple reboots playing hades in "vulkan - steam deck" mode. very odd

me too. i just got my new steam deck this afternoon. I was so happy and trying to play dark souls 3 and nioh 2. But both games got stuck after several seconds and then reboot. I was just trying to create a new character, and the game crashed?? This is the steam deck that I wait for 3 month? really disappointed.

Same here, got two reboots within minutes of each other on the pause menu (editing controller layout) of Horizon Zero Dawn.

It started right after the latest stable update was installed (sep 22).

Update: No more random reboots today. I guess it had plenty. At least for now...

Since the last stable update yesterday I am also having reboots. I was playing ETS2 and SD restarts, I played Mad Max and as I was closing the SD game it restarted

Are you guys sure the system is fully rebooting, and it's not just Steam crashing and restarting the Steam client? You can use the "uptime -p" command in the terminal on desktop mode to see how long it's been since the last restart of your Deck. That might be a good indicator of whether it was actually a reboot or not. If the uptime is only a few minutes then it probably was a full reboot. If not, it might've just been steam client restarting.

Doesn't restarting the Steam client also do that? Power > Restart Steam Client. It plays the animation and sound for me.

Yeah it does need to be fixed but if it's actually the Steam client crashing and restarting, then it should be reported as such instead of being reported as a system reboot.
