Steam Deck touchscreen won't work with retroarch melonds in latest steam beta

Touchscreen won't work in DS games, melonds retroarch. Installed latest beta software (I don't know the version number, I have already downgraded to stable) and touch no longer worked. It was fine in other apps (like citra). Downgrading to stable fixed the issue.

Same for me, however my controller config won't load and controls will still go to the steam client. By the way my game is the Minecraft launcher Prism.
For example if I press B it will send me back to the game launch page.
Also some of the menus don't fill the whole screen and the power off menu is reduced. For example restarting steam isn't an option anymore
I temporarily resolve the issue by just restarting steam or the whole deck.
