(Fixed) Steam deck UI slow and violent white flashing

When I downloaded the latest update (as of 10/24/2024) over my mobile hotspot my UI has become... "Laggy", as in low fps, and calling either the steam menu or the ••• menu causes white flickering during their arrival animation, and steam menu is even worse when in game, causing the entire screen to flash full white very violently.

I fear when I entered a cellular dead zone during the update, some of the data may have been missed or corrupted when service started degrading to very poor levels... Is there any way I can attempt a manual reinstallation or so without losing everything?

(Edit: fixed with a full OS reinstall, I suppose the update did get corrupted, somehow...)

Small update: I found out how to reinstall SteamOS and all problems have been purged, minus me losing my games and maybe their non-synced data, good as new now.

Which version did this happen on ? 3.6.19 or 3.6.20? As to avoid it all together. Ill usually skip an update for a month or so and verify all is well before upgrading. Im still waiting on my SteamDeck to arrive!

I honestly don't really remember, but it wasn't the update's fault. Just make sure you're on stable and reliable internet and you should be fine.

In my case, my update process ending up going into a well known bad cellular data spot (I was on my phone's hotspot) and the download process got corrupted from the lack of signal, causing severe visual glitches whenever the steam UI shown any form of popup, be it a notification or a midgame menu, transparency was toasted.
