Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Deck freezes waking up from sleep & other times
For some reason, my Steam Deck (LCD) often has these white pixels flash across the screen once, then it freezes and just plays the sound that just played over and over, sounding like a scratched CD. I didn't always have this issue with my Deck, but it started a few months ago. I uninstalled Decky and that seemed to fixed the problem, then after a while I reinstalled Decky and the problem came back after a few days. I uninstalled Decky again a few days ago, but my Deck still freezes.
Until recently, this would only happen a minute or so after waking from sleep. It never happens in the PIN menu, though: Only after I've signed into my Deck. Now my Deck also freezes during random games and even in the menu, even on booting up from shutdown without sleeping. It even happens in desktop mode at random times.
If anybody could help, that'd be great.

UPDATE: After having Decky uninstalled for a while, I reinstalled Decky. This issue still happens, but now very rarely, like once every 30 times.
UPDATE 2: it's happening again literally every single time and I'm so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrated

i have had this EXACT same problem since last update , i have tried everything , resetting bios , reverting to old update , system resetting ,starting games in big picture mode, everything , it may work once after continous resets , then once i put to sleep , upon coming back it will freeze, and yes the pixel lightning bolt that comes down the screen , we are in the same boat friend , i guess just wait until a new os update comes out , stay in touch , i know one person who is having same problems, and rma'd , so we will see , very upset , for weeks

I had the same problem. Did some testing and, for me, it's caused by the TabMaster plugin. Uninstalling it solved it for me.

I didn't have the plugin.

I have the same issue.
I was traveling and played for hours.
in the hotel room i charged it and noticed the december update.
i updated and now it hangs on startup screen and sometimes a few moments later in the menu.

After some investigation, i realised the fan wasn't blowing. i disabled the "enable updated fan controls" in the menu. Since then, the fan is blowing and the device is more usable. But it still seems to hang when loading things.

i think the device is still overheating. the update probably ruined the fan control software
