Game Recording doesn't capture whole game when outputting to 4k tv
Subject pretty much says it all. I've tried modifying the maximum height recorded but that doesn't make any difference. It seems to only capture the top left of my game rather than the whole screen.

It does record fine when I disconnect and am in handheld mode.

This... or sometimes it's just a black recording.

You mean to tell me my issue with trying to set a different shortcut and it not saving wasn't the only issue in Beta that wasn't fixed?!

Wtf were they doing with this feature this whole time?!

Had the same/ a similar issue - went to record a game while the Steam Deck was hooked to my TV, and the recording was just black. The audio was there but that was it.

I have the same issue and discovered a workaround. Please try it out:

  1. Go to Settings > Display.
  2. In the Display Scaling area (mine says Gamescope 64" Display Scaling), disable Automatically Set Resolution.
  3. Set the Resolution value to 3840x2160@60 or similar. Your refresh rate (@60) might be different than mine.

It fixed it for me this way. Now you should be able to record the entire game and not just the upper left corner while docked to a 4k TV.

Thanks Surtsey! I haven't had a chance yet to try it out, but I'll do so after I get home from work today.

This seems to have done the trick. Thanks.
