Mouse Wheel skips when scrolling

When scrolling through hotbars in games like Half-Life and Deus Ex, the hotbar will skip every other option when scrolling up and down through which is incredibly frustrating and annoying. I'm using an MX518 plugged into the official dock. This problem happens in any game, it's just more noticeable in these. This is an issue with the scroll wheel that never existed before now.

I've been having this issue as well with a mouse plugged into the official dock. Haven't been able to find any solutions, happens with different physical mice too.

It seems almost like some kind of smooth-scrolling setting or something, because it will sometimes scroll just once but other times scroll 2 or 3 times. I was hoping some of the smoothing settings for the deck's trackpads would affect dock->mouse scrolling behavior, but it doesn't seem to at all.

Around 3 months of this and no fix in sight. This along with the mouse resetting its position to the bottom right corner in Gaming mode makes using a mouse with the Steam Deck pretty frustrating. I'd put a ticket in but I really don't feel like dealing with copy pasted bot replies.

Sometime in the last 5 months this problem appears to have gotten fixed. I couldn't find it explicitly mentioned in any patch notes, but as of SteamOS version 3.6.19, I no longer have the mouse wheel skipping problem in games when docked with a keyboard and mouse. I also have yet to see the mouse reset it's position to the bottom right corner either.
