Steam error crashing UI
Since the last update if I try to view notifications by using the bottom right button or touch menu icon I get a black screen with the following text:

something went wrong while displaying this content

error reference shared steamui_8869911_faa436104cf5b9af

cannot read properties of undefined (reading nAppID)

makes navigating the menu impossible pls fix

Same problem here. They broke Steam Deck...

It's Decky Loader. At times, SteamOS updates can break Decky Loader and/or some of the plugins. The plugins are developed by people who it's not their main job so they may take a bit to be fixed to work with the updates.

Remove your plugins and then install them back one at a time until you fine the one(s) that are causing the biggest issue.

I was about to submit a report for this, have the exact same issue. Issue seems to occur at random, but when it does it's always upon clicking the notification icon from Quick Access menu.
Doesn't have anything to do with Decky Loader in my case, as I don't have Decky on my Deck.

Same here. And no, I don't have Decky installed. I'm also not getting notifications anymore...
How could this be happening due to an update from the STABLE channel???
C'mon, Valve.

I'll bump this thread for visibility, same issue on stable branch, no Decky.
Kefkui May 10, 2024 @ 4:09am

Decky loader might invoke the error but it isn't causing it. I don't have it, or any thirdparty plugin, nor have I ever. Still getting the error described here on both stable and beta channels.

I'm getting that error anytime I open a game profile in game mode. Game mode is completely unusable. I can still launch in desktop mode and play whatever I was gonna play.
Oh, I fix that.
U need check update in ur decky loader, on desktop mode. Go to the Dolphin File Manager and interact with decky_installer.desktop. Select 1st, update..., and it's done)
