Bluetooth issue with specific keyboard

I have a cherry kw 7100 mini I am wanting to use with the steam deck. It flickers between connected and disconnected and never fully connects. It behaves similarly in desktop mode. The keyboard works fine with my phone.

I am running os version 3.5.19 on the OLED steam deck.

I read somewhere else to go-to desktop mode to un-pair then re-pair the keyboard. There the code to enter onto the keyboard appeared and it appears to work in game mode now.
