still everything on the Deck screams that the Touchscreen is last resort and there just in case something is not working right IMO
Do you have an OLED or LCD model? I have an LCD model, so the touchscreen might have been improved since then. I also got my unit used, although it was in good condition and the seller didn't mention any touchscreen problems.
Not to mention, Googling around seems to reveal that other Deck owners have touchscreen problems too.
It's probably a hardware issue, considering that it acts similar (if not exactly the same) under Windows. I heard somewhere that the Deck used screens recycled from old tablets (explaining why Windows defaults to vertical orientation during setup), but I'm not sure how true this claim is or if it has anything to do with the touchscreen. Maybe the touch digitizer is just lousy.
Steam Deck is a cheap device. $400 is sacrifice everything range for a barely good enough experience. The next deck will have a hundred or more wiggle room for a better experience.
I have an early 64GB LCD model, got mine over 17 months ago and so far nothing broke, only the left stick rubber ring detached which is impressive, since back in the day I would ruin 2-3 PS2 controllers in the same timeframe
Huh, I guess you just got lucky then.
