Steamdeck Partially wiped itself after poweroff-poweron

My steamdeck seems to have spontaneously wiped itself partially. It looks like I'm not the only one:

I had powered off my fully charged steamdeck and 8 hours or so later when I went to power it back on while docked, it seemed to have trouble booting. Finally after some time I was brought the recovery manager giving me some options to boot into either the A or B partition of steamos (the menu you can access normally by powering on and holding ...). Not recognizing this I powered off and powered back on, hoping to boot normally. When it booted I was brought to oobe (out of box experience) and needed to login to steam ect. All of my downloaded games were gone as well as deckyloader and plugins.

The strange thing however is programs I had installed in desktop mode as well as files in the downloads folder and desktop are still there. Also, while deckyloader is gone the custom boot animations (from the missing plugin) continue to randomize on every boot.

Is there a logfile I can look at to get an idea as to why this happened? I'm guessing it had something to do with the custom boot videos/animations.

I had already sent this into steam support and they pointed me towards the forum...
