Steam Deck

Steam Deck

512GB OLED Deck: Wifi non-functional, steam deck a useless brick
So today I noticed my steam deck was not connecting to the wifi, I thought oh thats odd. It keeps erroring out and telling me that my password is incorrect even though its correct. This issue hasn't happened whatsover til today. I go to desktop mode to try to connect to wifi there. No luck there either, it tries to connect and tells me about "no saved secrets" or some other nonsense and fails to connect. I clear my download cache in steam, so now Im logged out of my steam account. So obviously now I cant log back in to even play my games at all. So I opt to do an entire re-image of the steam deck with a recovery image. SAME ISSUE. I also notice if i let my deck sit on the wifi scanning page for a few minutes it will then switch to saying no networks found. It just gets worse and worse.

So since I reimaged my steam deck its trying to do first time set. Guess what.... wifi still does not work. My steam deck is now effectively a paperweight and unusable. I can't do anything with it, no gaming, nothing. This just randomly started today. I see other users posting about this but not solid response from valve, only a post or two here or there.

Try this :
"It seems that the official workaround is to go to storage mode :
"When you get a chance we would recommend to please try temporarily switching your Steam Deck into battery storage mode as doing so can potentially address any issues with firmware in a potentially bad state which reinstalling or reimaging the device would not:

- Power the Steam Deck down normally (choose Shut Down from the Power menu). If you can't access the menu, you can force a shutdown by holding down the Power button for 10 seconds.
- Hold down the Volume+ button and press the power button. Wait up to 1 minute; the Steam Deck should boot into the BIOS menu.
- Using the D-Pad and A to select, navigate to "Setup Utility"
- Navigate to the Power Menu
- Choose Battery storage mode, and confirm.

You should see the Steam Deck power off, and the power LED will blink three times to confirm battery storage mode has been activated.

Wait a few minutes, then plug the Steam Deck in using the provided power supply and turn on the Steam Deck and retest the issue.

If this has no effect on the problem, let us know, and we will proceed onto next steps.

Steam Support"
hope it helps, it seems to reinitiate the wifi and some redditors solved this problem like this. And change the band of the 5ghz of some routers to other than 160 MHz.
Not a good fix, but a fix.
