Good news. the dwc3 module is there. Valve did include in the image. Someone else had this bug in an unrelated distro. I just wanted to make sure.

lsusb -t
essentially shows usb devices in a tree style. It essentially let me know whether your usb drive is detected. Your usb drive should show up regardless even when the device is not working.
Lsmod shows which kernel modules are loaded aka device drivers. The stuff that runs your hardware. I normally do not need to check, but there is a reported bug some one reported about the dtd drivers somewhere.

To give you an idea, your lsusb needs to say mass storage device somewhere. It isn't be detected at all.

Where did you buy your usb drive? Is your deck defective or the usb drive?
Yea. It isn't showing up in your computer. I wonder why. I do not have enough information about your usb drive to investigate.
SanDisk USB C drive that works on both my old LCD Deck, and PC. Just got the OLED deck today. The USB drive is detected in BIOS and is mountable if I restart the deck while it's plugged in. Once unplugged, I can't get it to mount again unless restart it. It has power running to it as it gets warm when not detected so I assume this is a software issue.

Give them the dmesg log of you trying to plugin your usb c drive.

I didn't do much. Valve fixed your issue and you confirmed it.
To test: From powered off status, press Vol+ and power, continue to hold Vol+ until you see the selection screen - choose "Setup Utility". Within the utility go down to "Advanced" > "USB Configuration" > select "XHCI" > then save and exit.
I am guessing this could be fixed on the software side since my old Deck is set to "DRD", but has no issues mounting devices...someone above my pay grade will need to chime in on the "why", but my guess is the new chipset behaves differently.

I would not make that assumption. AMD mess up hardware features all the time. Ever heard about their GPU virtualization reset bug? Yea, it persisted across generations.
