Nested Desktop screen brightness issue

Screen brightness changes based on some sort of inactivity, however steam settings do not change this behavior, but neither do kde settings.

Not sure how official the new nested desktop option in the application launcher is (that I added via right click menu) but I wanted to let you know.

Strange. KDE always had the ability to change brightness since the 4.x days. Are you looking at the battery tray icon?

In normal desktop mode everything works as intended. When I turn on nested desktop from within gamemode howver and play a game (a different application entirely) the screen brightness changes as if the device was inactive.

Setting deck settings to not dim the screen for example doesn't change it, it still dims.

I want to make sure. Did you also change the very low power settings and ac power settings too?

In both normal desktop mode and nested desktop mode the battery settings cannot be changed. i can uncheck dim screen in all options and they go back to check even after applying the changes.

They don't seem to change the behavior however, I can watch a youtube video without the screen dimming at all in normal desktop mode, it's only the nested mode that seems to think I'm "inactive".

Steam is running during normal desktop mode as well.
