Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Steam Deck takes 2 minutes to start up
When booting or waking my Steam Deck from sleep, the system will start up as normal - but after the home screen shows up everything will freeze up, and I will have no control for at least two minutes.

This issue only occurs when I am online in the SteamOS gaming mode. It does not happen in offline mode or when using the Desktop Mode.

Once the two minute wait is over I have no noticeable issues with loading speed or accessing data.

Swapping the internal drive, using Stable or Beta, did not resolve the issue. I have been experiencing it for several months now.

The fact that it only happens online makes me wanna say it's an issue with your net?
Do a speedtest, or maybe try switching to 2.4GHz if you know how to (google it if you don't, i am not google)

Thanks for chiming in!

I forgot to add, but it happens when connected to ethernet via the official Dock, but also on external networks (Hotel, 5G wireless from my phone, etc.) so there is nothing showing that it relates to my own connection speed or router unfortunately.

Currently getting 676mbps down via speedtest, 36mbps up.

Strange, have you done the obvious and tried to factory? Make sure you back up anything important ofc, and if (you think) you've done it before still try it again just to be sure

Yes, factory reset (after drive swap), BIOS reset, etc. No luck.. I'm hoping someone else shares the same experience as me here.
