NO SYSTEM UI SOUNDS
System UI sounds are silent including haptics and boot up. Checked to see if the UI sounds were enabled in settings via game mode and desktop mode all applications were unmuted in volume settings. Game audio, videos and browser has audio and when i ran the audio test in dev mode it worked fine so its not the speakers. I dont have Deckly enabled and im running the stable build , any ideas?

Steam support figured out the issue. Ends up, the steam application was muted. I verified this by playing a trailer in the steam app in desktop mode and heard no volume. To fix this I just had to open the audio volume controls (using the icon in the task bar), click the applications tab, and unmute Chromium. This needs to be done while steam is playing audio. Hope this helps others.

I have a similar issue. No sound at all in game mode. Not the UI nor any game I launch. Made sure steam itself wasn't muted in desktop mode, double checked in big picture. I switch back over to game mode and it's all muted. The default device is forced to "external device" even though I'm not plugged into a monitor or anything. I switch the output back to "speakers" only to hear nothing. It works just fine when I connect a blutooth headset though. Back in desktop mode and I do indeed have the speakers set as the default device. I really don't know what's wrong. I am on the preview channel.
