Wrong timezone, settings will not set.
Like the title says, no matter how many times I change it, the time zone is always wrong in desktop mode. Interestingly enough, even though the timezone is incorrect, the actual time displayed is correct. This is why I figured this is a bug. Please fix.

Out of curiosity, what time zone are you stuck on in desktop mode? Mine is on PST.

I factory reset my deck 2 days ago due to other issues... This wrong time zone issue still exists btw, so if you were thinking about factory because of this, don't.

Pacific Time Zone for desktop mode game mode works as intended.

Interesting... Yours is also on PST. If others can check their timezones and chime in on here that would be great.

I'm in UTC +5:30 India Standard Time. The time & the time zone shows correctly in the System Settings in Desktop mode as Asia/Kolkata (LMT).

Issue is with Steam Client in Desktop mode. Steam settings shows time zone as UTC -08:00 Pacific Standard Time, which is wrong. I tried changing it but it keeps going back to UTC - 08:00. I haven't seen anything else affected by this bug yet.

Thanks for the confirmation. Wish Valve fixed this already, seems like it should be easy to do... But I guess on the list of priorities, it really isn't a big deal either. As long as they even know about it and keep it on their list of fixes, I'd be content... But somehow I don't think they even know.

I have this issue too. For me, it's stuck on EST.

I have this issue as well. Very annoying.

Mine keeps changing to LA time zone and I'm on the eastern time zone side....now I wonder..because LA said "hey your games are not YOUR GAMES anymore, we can take em back at any time". So got me thinking everytime we switch to desktop it automatically switches to the times zone where the system can take back any game because of licensing and that's a easier way than telling the folks of your country "sorry their mine bud" without you knowing because I'm on the east coast and that just popped in my mind. Now I'm wondering If the time zones YOUR steam deck changes, does it has the same game laws as LA!
#BOOMshakalaca lol..." just a thought might not be true"

Same issue here. Getting -8:00 instead of +8:00

I think this bug is most obvious if you try to boot windows on the deck (e.g. external SSD or other storage). If you load windows, the time will be completely, utterly wrong. But if you then set the time on the deck and save it, when you go back to game mode (regular boot), the time will be wrong there, but correct in windows.

No windows on my deck, this issue only persists on desktop mode, and it's still going on even a year later.
Seriously debating on getting rid of my deck. Timezone wont save, stable update wont install. Windows handheld just seems better atm
I encountered this issue where the time zone remained “stuck” after attempting to re-adjust the time. However, when I switched to the desktop mode, the time displayed was correct. I changed it regardless and clicked apply. Upon returning to game mode, the issue was "resolved".

"Resolved" since it’s correct for this location, but I travel often. I won’t touch it again, but it’s unbelievable they can’t make a self-adjusting clock with constant internet access work properly. Almost as bad as the sound crackling issues that plague this device for years now.
