Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Steam Deck cannot play twitch.tv videos on FIREFOX on more than 720p? Or do I have a faulty deck?
I have recently got my Steam Deck, and one of the glaring issues that I encountered, is that I am unable to watch videos of higher than 720p, on Firefox, on platforms like Twitch.tv. When I try to do that, the video gets frozen (especially for 1440p, but for 1080 as well).

I am trying to find other Deck owners that can test this in order to make sure that this is a bug and not an issue isolated to my steam deck only. So far I have got no response, although I have posted at various places asking deck owners to try this. Maybe I have better luck here :)
If some people could test a 1440p video on TWITCH.TV using FIREFOX on steam deck, I would greatly appreciate it. Since 1440p is not common on twitch, I will give you an example of video you can try: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1758307805 . Can you test this and reply here whether the video freezes or not? Will take less than 30 seconds :P

I have already tried doing this on an Arch Linux machine, and the problem does not appear there. This is unfortunately the closest I can get to try to reproduce the issue, as I haven't got a second Steam Deck to test. (I know SteamOS is not exactly identical to Arch Linux)

I fully understand that this might be a Firefox - linux/SteamOS incompatibility of some sort, and not necessarily a Steam Deck issue. But right now I am not interested yet as to "why" or "how" of the problem, nor how to solve it (will deal with this later, after I confirm my findings), but mostly wanna know whether this is actually a bug or an issue that is isolated to my deck.

Thanks :)

More than likely an issue with Twitch. It’s pretty well known that twitch is a little buggy. If you tried watching videos from other websites and they ran fine at higher than 720P, then you know it’s Twitch that is the problem.
