Nintendo Switch Pro Controller shows as player 2
When connecting the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to the Deck via bluetooth in docked mode, a lot of game shows the Pro Controller as player 2, changing the order in the controller menu does not fix the problem as when opening Steam UI, it shows the controller as first but when returning in game, it is still seen as player 2. A workaround could be to allow us to disable the deck as a controller while docked until this issue is fully fixed.

I have had this issue will all external controllers, many times it doesn't let me reorder the controllers, defaults to the deck's built in controls and shows exclamation marks in the reorder window. have checked things on desktop but they were fine. input seems very buggy across the board

Nope, some game can auto detect controllers being used but if your game doesn't have that feature as of now we're still out of luck.

Last year we shipped a feature to keep gamepad slots "floating" where we don't commit the controllers we allocate to a slot until they have input, which should let the external gamepad take the first gamepad slot. Is there a particular game where you're having issues with this? Can you try calibrating the joystick of the deck and making sure the deadzone is set large enough?
