Desktop Mode Freeze, now unable to boot
After using Desktop Mode, the System freezes. The device tried to restart automatically. Now only Bootlogo showing and device not booting in SteamOS. I followed the article to boot Recover image. https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/1B71-EDF2-EB6D-2BB3
I have now tried to start the steam deck again but unfortunately it does not work to start the recovery image. You can chose the USB in EFI but after that again the stupid boot logo. I decided to let the device 'working'. After 2 hours nothing just the boot logo. Also booting from a Linux Live System also not working. After you are in Grub and use for example 'start blaba Live System' the device stuck. I don't think that some other things work like 'Hiren’s BootCD PE'. The only thing that was successful was booting into the memtest usb stick and the memtest over 3 hours. Unfortunately my ticket on Steam is also unanswered for over 24 hours. Some ideas what I can try next?

I have the same issue and was thinking using the boot Recovery image will help me...

What were you doing in Desktop mode ? I was installing some games via ftp...

did you try this ? https://steamcommunity.com/app/1675200/discussions/0/3273562123583564699/. Not tried yet but will soon.

Just installed discord via flatpak and then started after that device froze. But Inhave to say the system frozes two times before without any third party applications. Yes saw this thread but won’t help. Yesterday I got it to boot one time but after 5 min it frozes again. Also windows boot stick gave me a bsod before the windows installation.

saw somewhere that the ssd can be an issue, and is likely this since you had a bsod....

I have the same issue. Tried with ssd and usb I managed to get to the reboot desktop after that it got stuck.

At this point I cant get pass the logo. Hope steam answers soon I had it for less than 24 hours :(

opened at the 09/14 a support ticket. steam wants some tests but it's for sure a RMA
