World Ends With You:NEO control adjust bug

I just got the game and am playing on a Steam Deck. The default control scheme is Nintendo, so I shift it to X Box scheme. Great, now the buttons and commands match. But primary interact button is B button (right side button) and A button is back/cancel and I'm used to those two having those actions reversed. So I go in to manually adjust the controls, but they fail to save EVERY TIME! And yes, I've hit the save icon AND even tried adjusting other commands and I still have the same result.
