SD card format errors

Every time I try and format any micro SD card on my steam deck it gives me a format error. To fix this I have tried:
1. Formatting an SD card to Fat32 in desktop mode then bringing it back to game mode to format properly.
2. Putting an SD card in my switch formatting it there then restarting the steam deck and formatting in game mode.
3. I factory reset my steam deck and put in a newly fat32 formatted SD card.
I have done all of these things with at least 2 different SD cards each that I know work on my computer and switch but every time I format on the steam deck, it gives me an error. I got it less than 24 hours ago I have not been able to format a single SD card without error, to use to save games on

It seems that after factory resetting my steam deck and formatting my SD card even though it gave me an error it did properly format and is now working with downloading steam games
