While this may be a functional workaround, this is a non-starter for people using an AVR to control which HDMI device is being output to the TV. I'd have to run a separate HDMI cable from the deck dock to the TV in order to have different TV settings just for the deck - and then I'd have to use HDMI-ARC to get the audio back down to my AVR, which can induce some latency.
My Switch, Xbox, and Laptop all have the ability to set limited RGB, a bummer the steam deck doesn't.
i would love a fix for this, as i have a dock but cant use it.
Although a option might help. I'd rather see the Steam Deck use the output correctly.
Valve if you could release a toggle for the Steam Dock that would be awesome!
Even though the problem is with the decks display drivers, it might be worth also doing the same in the Steam Deck Dock community, since this discussion is about connecting to TV's
