Is the airpod issue related to this bug? You guys need to post some logs.
One identified issue.
It might get fixed by someone else reporting this to Bluez, but if you want it fixed, the only way is to get a packet capture of the issue and send it with logs to the Bluez maintainers.

I will have to try for an extended amount of time later, but at least initially, this appears to have worked. Thank you stranger!
Go into desktop mode. Open the System Settings and click on Bluetooth. If your AirPods are already paired, left click on them and select “forget device”, and pair your AirPods again. Now click on Audio in the left menu, and under the AirPods device (which should say something like, “Headphones (AirPods Pro),”) click on profile and select, “High Fidelity Playback (A2DP Sink, Codec AAC)”.
After doing this, my AirPods are working perfectly on my Steam Deck in both Desktop mode and Game mode.
