Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Steam Button and Options button, both register as a right mouse-click
This very annoying issue happen recently after i powered up an game from sleep.
Both buttons did not bring up options or steam settings as they should. They both registered as a right click.
Have tried to roll back from preview to stable or beta update channel but no difference, input button test shows all buttons are working correctly.
Happens in desktop mode as well as gamemode.

Since no overlay works many games are completely unplayable to me, and not being able to change battery settings in-game is also annoying.

Anyone else got this problem?

If you go to the Settings->Controller->Test Device Inputs page does it look like the left trigger is non-0 coming out of sleep?

Hi
When I go out of sleep, and test device inputs left trigger seems to hover between 26800 - 27000 when it's not being pressed. Should mention that this happens also after shutting the steam deck off, and booting on again. Seems to happen either way.

Does it recover if you sweep the stick in a circle?

No thats dosent seem to change anything.
That being said I have no problems with the left trigger in games, no ghost input or anything.
Its just the steam-button and the quick accsess button, that i struggle with.

Oh sorry, I meant to say fully press and release the trigger

Ok so I tried what you said and fully pressed the left trigger and released it, the value of the left trigger still wont go down to zero unlike the right trigger.

Ok, you may want to try recalibrating the trigger using instructions from here:
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+Calibrate+Steam+Deck+Triggers/150411

You can also make a Steam support ticket and an agent can walk you through troubleshooting or getting an RMA started depending on what is appropriate.

So, I think found a really weird fix for this problem. When in the steam menus hold in the left trigger, while sweeping the left stick in a circle and then pressing the steam button, at the same time. Do this one or two times, and the steam button and the quick access button will have their original function restored.

They will still work after going to sleep, however if i go to desktop mode and back to game-mode, or shut down the steam deck the problem returns.

No idea if this is an hardware issue or an software issue, at least haven't found anyone else with the same problem.

Ok, ill try to calibrate the trigger if that dosen't work, i'll create a support ticket.
Thanks.
Same problem, I hope a definitve solution for this

I had the same problem, the weird fix worked for me as well but ultimately the permanent fix was to calibrate the triggers.

This can easily happen if you disassemble your triggers.
