Youtube on Firefox on Deck
I'm not sure whose fault this is, so I'll start here:

Youtube on Firefox (flatpak) on Deck won't full-screen. Also... closing a tab can leave Firefox unresponsive to input.

This doesn't effect Chrome, but since I don't entirely trust Google, that's a poor solution.

I've had no problems with Firefox so far.
YouTube seem fine as well including full screen.

Have you tried reinstalling it?

I have reinstalled several times. It's quite repeatable.

Do you have extensions installed ?
Or anything else other than a basic install ?

firefox also isnt running fullscreen for me but closing a tab works just fine

I thought it did it before I changed to beta mode (sorta unwilling to go back ... the customisation of the controls is soooo good now...), but the closing tabs problem only comes after messing with youtube a bit --- possibly trying to close a video ... or trying to cancel it's lame not-full-screen-but-bigger-than-default mode.

the work around is telling firefox to render at 1280x800

flatpak run org.mozilla.firefox --help

flatpak run org.mozilla.firefox --window-size 1280,800

gamescope does not export WAYLAND_DISPLAY variable setting it to wayland-0 changes the display protocol to Xwayland which fixes then black bars issue with firefox flatpak

You do not need to manually set the rendering resolution in firefox
