JoyCons do not reliably re-connect (Beta/Preview)
Tried on the latest Beta and Preview channel (as of 2022-08-28) as joycon support is only available on those channels.

Steps to reproduce:
- Connect both L and R joycons to steam deck from bluetooth settings. They should combine together to form a single controller.
- Switch back to e.g. home Library page.
- Put the steam deck to sleep for 5-10secs. The joycons should switch themselves off.
- Turn the steam deck back on.
- Try to reconnect the joycons (by pressing any button on the joycons).

Sometimes both L and R do reconnect. Often times it will take many, many attempts to connect (pressing a button on the joycon, waiting for the LEDs to finishing blinking / reconnect cycle, trying again). Sometimes a joycon or both just don't reconnect at all even after over 10 attempts. In this case, you would have to manually re-pair them from Bluetooth settings - this involves unpairing L and R joycons, holding the pair button down again and going through the pair process all over again, for both L and R. It can be quite a frustrating experience!

Much appreciated!

Just wanted to also mention - JoyCons themselves are on the current latest firmware (downloaded when connected to a nintendo switch device). No new firmware updates as of when i checked today (2022-08-28).

There is something I do which seems like it helps a bit. This doesn't always reconnect them on 1st try but it's better than having to unpair / re-pair joycons in bluetooth settings.

- Push a button on joycon to start LEDs blinking.

- Wait 1-2 seconds

- Immediately push the "Sync" button to interrupt the LED blinking.

- Push any button again to attempt resync & wait.

It seems much more likely to reconnect when doing this. If it doesn't reconnect on first go, just try steps again and they do usually reconnect after a few tries.

Would still be 1000x better if they did reconnect reliably like other BT controllers without having to do this, of course. Esp. if you use joycons as daily drivers (split controller is super comfy)

Man I really wish there was a fix for this, love using my joy cons with steam and I just wish I wouldn’t have to constantly get up and walk over to my tv stand and use the steam deck controls to get back to Bluetooth settings to resync all over again
