Unable to uninstall Half-Life 2 (missing shared content)
I finished Half-Life 2 on my Steam Deck, and have moved onto Episode 1, so I'd like to uninstall the previous game to free up space. Whether I try this through Gaming Mode or on Steam via Desktop Mode, I'm met with an uninstall error stating that I'm "missing shared content". I've verified the installation, but nothing changes. Is this due to Episode 1's reliance on its files, or has something gone wrong on my Steam Deck?

on desktop mode you can manually delete the game folder from the steam library

I had to delete episode one and episode two, then I was able to delete base half life and reinstall the episodes.

Same problem. Can't normal play, can't uninstall. No saves works, no run, stuck on play and now... missing shared content.

it makes sense that you can't uninstall a base game and leave the DRM / Addons installed...

...unfortunately Valve chose to avoid this inconsistency by prohibiting the base game being uninstalled, instead of asking if it is OK to uninstall the DRMs/Addons too

The weirdest part is that this means they already have done the hard part... they built a method that finds out if there are DRMs/Addons installed... all that's left is ask... Valve is pretty consistent in almost getting it right :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

recently had this issue after the anniversary update, I closed steam, deleted the 'Half-Life 2' folder in common, as well as the appmanifest files with the game Id's of half-life, Lost Coast, and the Episodes(220, 340, 380, 420), then reopened steam to the games not being installed. I install and have no problem uninstalling it. AppManifest is pretty much what tells steam what games are installed.
