BUG: 200-1040 MHZ GPU LOCK ON 3.5.5!

So, you have moved the 3.5.5 to stable version KNOWING it has a MAYOR bug related to the gpu getting stuck between 200 and 1040mhz, dropping the performance a LOT, wich has been reported SEVERAL times in the last month:

But its obvious your priority was to launch the oled model as soon as posible , wich needs some.of the 3.5 functions, instead of polishing the 3.5.5 after getting it to the stable, and now you have your 3.5.5 update post full of reports of that same bug...well played:

Come on valve.....i would fix it as soon as posible if i were you, cuz the bast mayority of the new customers that are going to have this bug, doens't know anything about the gpu, the tdp, or the frecuency, so they are going to asume the machine performs poorly , and its going to be your fault.

Unfortunately it's not even in the BIOS. This is done through the console. But you shouldn’t worry about this. It is enough to install Decky Loader (surely everyone already has it), download the Power Tools plugin through it and limit the maximum CPU frequency to 2800mhz. It's very easy and safe

Found that using the semi fix provided here by limit cpu max to 2800mhz now causes 400mhz/1040mhz was hoping it’d work but nope

Same issue, even happens when not gaming. I am just setting it manually for the time being. The power usage doesn't seem that much increased when idle.

Wanted to also say that I have the same bug. I am on steam deck LCD and ALWAYS have been on Stable. Updated last night to 3.5.5 and noticed the bug first in Just Cause 3, along with stutters.

0) Задаем пароль для рут-доступа, если до этого не делали:
passwd


1) Вводим команду для входа работы из под рута(режим администратора):
sudo su


1.1) Вводим пароль для рут доступа(исходя из пункта 0)

2) Снимаем защиту на запись системного раздела:
steamos-readonly disable


3) Вводим следующие строчки как одну команду, не поотдельности, для создания systemd службы(!):

echo '[Unit]
Description=Disable turboboost
[Service]
Type=simple
ExecStart=/etc/acpi/disableturboboost.sh
[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target' > /etc/systemd/system/disableturboboost.service


4) Даем права:
chmod 755 /etc/systemd/system/disableturboboost.service


5) Создаем папку:
mkdir /etc/acpi


6) Вводим следующую команду для создания скрипта, который будет исполняться нашей службой(исполнять строку как одну команду, не поотдельности!):

echo '#!/bin/bash
echo 0 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/boost' > /etc/acpi/disableturboboost.sh


7) Делаем наш скрипт исполняемым:
chmod u+x /etc/acpi/disableturboboost.sh


8) Запускаем нашу службу:
systemctl enable disableturboboost.service


9) Включаем режим только чтения для системного раздела:
steamos-readonly enable


10) Обязательно перезагружаемся.

Чтобы вернуть обратно:
1) Входим для работы из под рута:
sudo su


2) Снимаем защиту на запись системного раздела:
steamos-readonly disable


3) Отключаем службу
systemctl disable disableturboboost.service


4) Включаем режим только чтения для системного раздела:
steamos-readonly enable


5) Обязательно перезагружаемся.

Как я уже говорил, частота GPU никак не влияет на производительность, это просто цифры.
Кстати, отключение turbo boost сильно снижает температуру и повышает автономность, практически без потерь производительности

Как я уже говорил, частота GPU никак не влияет на производительность, это просто цифры.
Кстати, отключение turbo boost сильно снижает температуру и повышает автономность, практически без потерь производительности

More stutters in open world as it rarely pushes above 1200mhz.
I have a deck on 3.4 and one on 3.5.5 and can measure it. It not catastrophic but it is worse in many games and doesnt need to be.
