Limited edition sold out, will Valve re-up?

It seems that there was quite a few who were planning on purchasing the limited edition model of the Deck but were met with something like an E502 L3 error around 12 when the sale went live. After less than 30 minutes, Valve started letting people know it was out of stock.

Is there enough demand, and sub-sequentially supply within the "limited" stock, for Valve to make more for us who are sitting here going "well, I'm not buying it from a scalper, it's Steam or I wait"?

Personally, I know I'm hoping they make more.

That's the funny thing, everything is technically limited edition, it's just that the company didn't intend for it to be so, until they do. Or do you think Valve would keep making the OG Steam Deck LCD models forever? I want the pretty colored one that Valve made with all the extra pointless virtual things.

Well... darn. I think you need to make sure you delete the deck in your cart and add a new one. A few times around this loop and it sold me one. I am in Canada, tho. Dunno if that's a different batch.

From what I understood, the "Limited Edition" was apparently a testbed to see the desire for specialty versions with different colour schemes, etc. But I like looking at it the way you described in another post, everything is technically "Limited Edition." I think that's a very healthy way to look at things.

I bought the wrong version the first time. I was able to go back on another account and purchased the limited edition 1.5 hours after it went on sale.

I read the description of the limited edition as "if a different color is popular enough, we will make more colors available." I managed to buy a limited edition model 34 minutes after launch, surprisingly without a hitch too. Good luck to everyone having issues still.

"Limited Edition" still up almost 9 hours later. This was a good way to make sales and charge $30 extra.

You say charge $30 extra, I hear help fund Valve's war chest for the console wars. That sounds like a deal to me, Nintendo has had it too good for too long.

Best way to do a Limited Edition run it was easy to obtain for a limited amount of time, no it's not gonna be rare but it's still going to be special for the early adopters who chose to get one.

Limited Edition shouldn't be a bot scalping disaster for it to be limited.
